While working at P E Systems, employees have the opportunity to give back to the community. P E Systems has been an active supporter of educational institutions, associations, and various organizations, (primarily non- profit.) Our belief is that supporting our community is paramount. The corporation helps college students during the summer and semester breaks by providing them jobs as administrative assistants or junior network support employees. Our CEO feels higher education is very important in today’s world and enjoys helping students to achieve success. Many executives and employees of P E Systems work in their communities, and are involved in local civic associations. P E Systems is a member of the local Fairfax County VA Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the Fairfax Central Chamber of Commerce.
- P E Systems has been involved in local political elections through supporting candidates that would promote economic vitality and excellence in education and schools.
- One of P E Systems’ VP’s has been honored with selection to be on the Board of Directors for a local charity organization called Rebuilding Together, focused on helping with affordable and safe housing for local residents. This is the project he does every April as for his Church’s Team Captain.
- P E Systems Dayton gives to the local Food Bank each year.
- Our former VP of Finance, and her daughter collected donations from the community and assembled 65 care packages for Christmas that were sent to service members in the Army who are currently serving in Kuwait.
- P E Systems are supporters of Children’s National Medical Center. We have been working with the Director of Development at the Goldberg Center to bring awareness of the need for support to more defense contractors.
- P E Systems are members of the Finance Committee for the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA). The mission of NMWA is to bring recognition to the achievements of women artists of all periods and nationalities by exhibiting, preserving, acquiring, and researching art by women and by teaching the public about their accomplishments.
- February 16th, 2010 Wesley King, President and CEO, and Pamela Johnson, CFO and Executive VP were recognized at a “Dedication and Recognition Reception” as supporters of the INOVA KELLAR CENTER, which is a non-profit that specializes in behavioral health services for youth and families.
- Pamela Johnson, CFO, was a Board of Director of the Fairfax Boulevard Partnership which was the Fairfax Boulevard Business Improvement District (BID) from mid 2007 until it was dissolved in May 2010 by the city. The primary goal of the Partnership was to advance a multi-faceted approach that promotes the Boulevard’s revitalization and economic vitality. She held the position of Secretary and Treasurer.
- P E Systems has been a partner of The Choral Arts Society of Washington DC for several years. The mission of Choral Arts is the pursuit of excellence in choral repertoire and performance and the commitment to promote and share the art of choral music through education and community outreach. P E Systems are members of the Benefit Committee of the Choral Arts Society. They have also helped to sponsor injured service men and women and their families so they can participate in the holiday concert.
- P E Systems has hosted blood drives where INOVA Blood Donor Services bring their blood mobile to our office, and employees who choose to are able to give blood on the spot.
- P E Systems has collected toys for less fortunate children and donated them to Toys for Tots through the Armed Forces Computer Electronics Association (AFCEA)
- P E Systems matched our employee donations in support of the Haiti disaster relief last year. These monies were donated to The Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund.
- During the hurricane Katrina disaster, P E Systems cultivated funds that matched any/all employee contributions that were sent to the Salvation Army and American Red Cross for the residents of New Orleans.
- P E Systems hosted a high school senior from a local high school in the Northeast Massachusetts area each summer. They were hired as a paid intern to help finance their college tuition. The students applied through AFCEA, their applications and resumes were then forwarded over to our office in Massachusetts. We reviewed about 60 applicants, and picked our top three. One student is then assigned to us. Some corporate executives choose to individually sponsor a college student by providing a laptop computer and tuition assistance. Additionally, at our San Antonio, Texas office, we supported a science camp for kids during the summer. It is run through the Science and Engineering (SEA) Magnet School. Each year scholarships were awarded to worthy students to help finance a college degree in the sciences.
