February 2005PESystems Awarded $11M Computer Network Support Task Order for AFRLPESystems was awarded a Time and Materials (T&M) Task Order under the GSA’s STARS GWAC, effective 16 FEB 2005, in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Hanscom Research Site (HRS). PESystems IT personnel are delivering and managing IT services in support of 600 engineers and scientists located in twenty-three buildings at Hanscom AFB, MA and two off-site locations. In addition to a base period ending SEP 2005, the contract includes five one year extensions.Twenty-one staff members are providing technical services in support of the AFRL Corporate Information Office (CIO) and the Logistics Material Control Activity (LMCA). PESystems personnel are responsible for all IT resources in a heterogeneous (i.e., UNIX and Windows) environment supporting the AFRL mission, including: IT operations; network engineering and management; application installation and management; and computer security. Additionally, PESystems provides a “help desk” function in support AFRL engineers and scientists and operates and maintains a “state of the art”, electronic conferencing center.
